Franco Maschio was born in Majano on the 6thof July 1954, in the province of Udine, in the core of Friuli. He developed a personal language and built up his expertise beyond the regional boundaries. He took part to numerous competitions and exhibitions in Italy and abroad, receiving prestigious awards. His sculptures can be observed almost everywhere in Europe, in Canada, in the United States and of course in Friuli: the artist finds often inspiration from the values of his beloved land. In his spacious atelier in the Majano countryside, he makes his works by using stone, metal and wood. He creates continuously public works as well as sculptures for private clientele.
